Day 1     Venice – Padua- Reach Padua by train where you will visit the Scrovegni Chapel, an unparalleled cycle of frescoes, the University housing the oldest permanent anatomy theatre in the world and Galileo’s desk, the Botanical Garden, the Caffè Pedrocchi named cafè without doors where you can have a spritz, the trendy local aperitif. At the end of the day get to Verona by train

Day 2     Sirmione – Lake Garda – Verona – On this half day tour, take the train from Verona to Lake Garda to admire the lake from a privileged point of view on board a speedboat. Take your time to enjoy the beauty of Sirmione and return to Verona by train to spend the afternoon in Romeo and Juliet’s town. Stroll through its old streets in a relaxed atmosphere and visit a mosaic maker’s workshop to discover old crafts and traditions. In summertime opera enthusiasts can enjoy an open-air performance in the stunning setting of the Arena

Day 3     Mantua – Reach Mantua by train from Verona and discover a unique art jewel. The town’s highlight is the Palazzo Ducale, the residence of the Gonzaga family, featuring beautifully frescoed rooms, collections of paintings and Mantegna’s spectacular Bridal Chamber. Make sure to taste the local dishes and return by train to Verona at the end of the day

Day 4     Sigurtà Park and Garden – Milan You will be taken by private car to visit one of the world’s most beautiful parks in Europe. On the way to the park you will stop at a winery for a visit and wine tasting. At lunch time taste the local home-made tortellini, a thin layer of pasta stuffed with a delicate filling. Late in the afternoon, you will be taken back to Verona to board the train to Milan

Day 5     Cremona – On this day trip from Milan, you will visit Cremona. The town is synonymous with violins worldwide. Visit the workshop of a violin maker and admire the town’s charming medieval centre with the Cathedral, the Town Hall, the Baptistery and the Bell Tower. Do not leave Cremona without tasting the local food specialties in particular mostarda (pickled fruit with mustard) and torrone (nougat)

Day 6     Lake Como – Take the train from Milan to reach the charming village of Varenna, stroll along the lake shore or through the small alleys and buy some local olive oil. Reach Bellagio by boat admiring the lake’s unspoiled landscapes, its banks filled with luxuriant vegetation, sumptuous villas and small villages of rare beauty. At the end of the day take the train back to Milan

Day 7     Milan - Milan is so widely recognised as being the capital of fashion and business that people tend to underestimate its abundance of cultural opportunities. Whatever your choices, stop at local market and enjoy an aperitif with genuine food
