Day 1     Milan - Milan can be reached in less than two hours and 30 minutes by train from Venice. Visit the covered market of S. Maria del Suffragio, surrounded by a casual atmosphere and modern design and sitting in a colorful location, you will mix with the locals and taste genuine products. The market has been recently revived thanks to the commitment of some well-known entrepreneurs in the field of culinary excellence.

Day 2     Lake Maggiore – On this day trip from Milan you will visit the Borromeo islands: Isola Madre and Isola Bella, and the picturesque lakeside town of Stresa. The Isola Madre is entirely covered in lush English-style botanical gardens playing host to a variety of species from all over the world. The Isola Bella will surprise you with its magnificent Grottoes, underground rooms decorated with multi-colored pebbles that make them resemble a huge, one-of-a-kind mosaic with designs reflecting aquatic themes

Day 3     Turin – Leave Milan to reach Turin by train. Its extraordinary palaces, royal residences and museums testify to Turin’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. The city of the Kings of Italy offers different opportunities to experience local traditions like a Royal Break at a historical café or the aperitif rite when people gather at one of the many trendy bars and enjoy drinks served with an array of complimentary finger food. You can also visit a craftsman’s workshop and discover the Italian tradition of shoe making

Day 4     The Langhe – On this day tour from Turin, you will visit the Langhe: vineyards as far as the eye can see, rolling hills dotted with ancient villages and castles. You will visit a winery where you will learn more about a variety of red wines by sampling them, including what is known as the king of wines and the wine of kings: the Barolo.  You can explore the small villages and enjoy a typical lunch, and before returning to Turin a truffle hunter and his specially trained dog will show you how to hunt truffles in the woods

Day 5     Pisa – Leave Turin by train to reach Pisa. Settle down at your hotel and go exploring the city known all over the world for its Piazza dei Miracoli consisting of the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Camposanto and the Leaning Tower. Yet it is filled with squares, streets, alleyways, buildings, monuments and churches that are equally worth exploring

Day 6     Le Cinque Terre – Pisa is going to be your base for a few days and the departing point to discover the amazing attractions in this area. On today’s train trip you will visit the picturesque small villages of Le Cinque Terre which are also a natural regional park acknowledged as a Unesco World Heritage Site. The five villages are connected both by train and by boat but do not miss the chance to walk along its waterfront breathtaking view paths through vineyards and olive groves. Make sure to stop at a winery to taste the local wine Sciacchetrà and to enter a bakery for some freshly baked cheese focaccia, a delicious local specialty

Day 7     The Etruscan Coast – if you make this trip between May and September you can go on a fishing expedition with local fishermen to discover the rich variety of marine life and to enjoy a trip through the tastes and traditions of the sea and of the fishing culture. This area is still known as the Etruscan Coast, a stretch of coastline that is so many different things at once: seaside, old villages, hills covered in vineyards and olive groves, wonderful olive oil and excellent wines. Before returning to Pisa, visit a wine cellars and sample extraordinary red wines with a unique character and personality, along with fresh whites and intense, aromatic dessert wines

Day 8     Lucca and Carrara marble caves – Again on a day tour from Pisa, you will discover today the marble caves where Michelangelo took the marble for its masterpieces on board a 4x4 vehicle. The tour includes tasting of the Lardo di Colonnata, cured strips of fat, aged in marble basins and included in the Ark of Taste catalogue. In the afternoon reach the walled medieval town of Lucca which will surprise you with its beauty at every corner

Day 9     Orvieto – Civita di Bagnoregio – Leave Pisa today and reach Orvieto by train. Travelling by train involves a train change in Florence, alternatively you can reach Orvieto by private car. Visit the nearby town of Civita di Bagnoregio, dubbed the “dying city” because of the crumbling tufa rock on which it stands and that in a few decades might disappear forever

Day 10  Orvieto – Rome – In the morning explore Orvieto with its beautiful cathedral, small streets and a rich offer of shops selling typical local products. In the afternoon the train will take you to Rome in less than 1 hour and a half
